The art project in Centro Salud Mental

We were invited by the project members of SOLIDARIUM to join the first session of the art course in the Centro Salud Mental in Cusco. It was interesting to see how they taught an introduction to art to the patients of this center. The participants were asked to share their feelings about famous art objects. After the introduction the participants were invited to make art by themselves. They were encouraged to express themselves in the way they wanted without any restrictions. Especially for these people it is important to be able to express themselves in an alternative way if words cannot tell how they feel.
We were impressed by the way the project members of SOLIDARIUM communicated and treated the people with great respect. Also the way in which they use their knowledge and talents, to execute voluntary work in their free time, with much enthusiasm, earns the upmost respect.

We wish them all the best with their projects and will continue to support and follow them in the future.

El proyecto de arte en el Centro de Salud Mental

Fuimos invitados por los miembros del proyecto de SOLIDARIUM a unirnos a la primera sesión del curso de arte en el Centro de Salud Mental en el Cusco. Fue interesante ver cómo se enseña una introducción al arte a los pacientes de este centro. Los participantes fueron invitados a compartir sus sentimientos acerca de obras de arte famosas. Después de la introducción de los participantes fueron invitados a hacer arte por sí mismos. Se les animó a expresarse en la forma en que querían, sin ninguna restricción. Especialmente para estas personas es importante ser capaz de expresarse de una manera alternativa, si las palabras no pueden expresar como se sienten.
Estamos impresionados por la forma en que los miembros del proyecto SOLIDARIUM comunicaban y trataban a la gente con gran respeto. También la forma en que utilizan sus conocimientos y talentos, para ejecutar el trabajo de voluntario en su tiempo libre, con mucho entusiasmo, ganan el máximo respeto.

Les deseamos todo lo mejor con sus proyectos y seguiremos prestando apoyo en el futuro.
